All year round
Events in Verona
There's no wrong time to visit Verona. In summer there's opera under the stars, in autumn the festivals, in winter the Christmas markets, and in spring Vinitaly transforms the city. Choose your season, we'll take care of the rest.
Gardens in bloom, wine, and renewal
Spring

Vinitaly
Italy's most important wine fair transforms Verona for a week. Even without a ticket for the fair, the Fuori Salone enlivens every corner of the city: tastings in trattorias, dinners with producers, events in historic palazzo courtyards.

Gardens in Bloom
Giardino Giusti, Parco delle Colombare, the avenues of Borgo Trento: in spring Verona is covered in wisteria, roses, and jasmine. It's the best time for walks without the summer heat and with perfect photography light.

Walks along the Adige
As the days grow longer, the Veronese return to walking along the Adige. The cycling paths fill up, the riverside bars reopen their terraces. The best time to walk south to the Basilica of San Zeno.
Opera under the stars and magical nights
Summer

Opera at the Arena
Two thousand years of history under a starry sky, thousands of flickering candles on the stands. La Traviata, Aida, Nabucco: every summer the program changes, the emotion remains. Book tickets in advance.

Verona Jazz Festival
Concerts in courtyards, theatres, and city squares. International artists and new talents in venues only Verona can offer. The informal atmosphere of jazz evenings is the perfect counterpoint to the solemnity of opera.

Roberto Bolle and Friends
A unique evening at the Arena with Italy's greatest dancer and his international guests. The show blends classical and contemporary dance in a breathtaking setting. Tickets sell out in hours.
Festivals, traditions, and autumn flavors
Autumn

Tocatì, Games Festival
For three days Verona's squares become open-air playing fields. Traditional games from all over Italy and the world, tournaments, street performances. A genuine and engaging festival, perfect for families and anyone looking for the city's most authentic side.

Fieracavalli
One of Europe's most important equestrian fairs since 1898. Even without knowing anything about horses, it's worth going: evening shows, live competitions, and an atmosphere that fills the city with visitors from all over Europe.

Valpolicella Harvest
Half an hour from Verona, the Valpolicella hills fill with the scent of grapes. Many wineries open their doors for visits and tastings. It's the season of Amarone, Ripasso, and dinners among the vine rows at sunset.
Lights, markets, and romance
Winter

Christmas Markets
Piazza dei Signori becomes Verona's Christmas living room: artisan stalls, mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, and the illuminated Christmas tree. The scent of cinnamon and pine accompanies evening strolls through the decorated center.

Verona in Love
The city of Romeo and Juliet celebrates love with a program of events, shows, and installations in the historic center. A giant red heart in Piazza dei Signori, concerts, themed dinners, and illuminated romantic paths. Kitsch? Maybe. Unforgettable? Definitely.

New Year's Eve in Piazza Bra
Verona welcomes the new year in Piazza Bra, with the illuminated Arena behind you, live music, and a midnight toast. Dine in the center's restaurants and head to the piazza for the countdown. One of the most beautiful New Year's celebrations in Northern Italy.
Year-Round Activities
Rafting on the Adige
See Verona from the water: start upstream and float down the Adige under the historic bridges. Suitable for everyone, including beginners. A one-hour excursion worth the trip.
Bicycle Tour
Verona is flat and the cycling paths along the Adige are among the most beautiful in Veneto. Rent a bike in the center and in half an hour you're outside the city, among vineyards and countryside.
Guided Food Tour
A local guide takes you through markets, historic shops, and trattorias. Taste Monte Veronese cheese, risotto all'Amarone, and cicchetti at the bar. Three hours, full stomach, and you'll know how to order like a Veronese.
Thursday Market
Piazza Vittorio Veneto transforms into a neighborhood market as big as a city block: fruit, vegetables, cheese, cured meats, flowers. Go early, buy something good, and have breakfast at the piazza café.
